Review by tapeworm
In The Blob, you control a creature that spawned from radioactive material after a meteorite struck a nuclear waste disposal site. Starting in the sewers, this blob makes its way through various environments on its search for home.

As the blob, you acquire several skills as you go along, but from the start you are able to move along floors or celings and stretch over gaps. These abilities are necessary to traverse the different environments where you find yourself, and each new skill that you learn becomes necessary to progress.

The graphics in this game are colorful and fairly detailed. I was happy that the dull tones of the sewers did not dominate the entire game. The areas are varied and change often enough to keep things interesting. Music by Ben Briggs, who often collaborates with Hellbound, suits the game well. Sound effects are minimal but appropriate.

Although the unique mechanics and variety make The Blob well worth trying, these elements break down to some degree in later areas. The game becomes more similar to traditional platformers and gets a little repetitive. But despite this, I was hooked until the end, as I always seem to be with Hellbound's games.

If you enjoy platformers, especially ones with some originality in gameplay, you should try this one.

I like the way you move about by sticking to different surfaces... Impresive... It could definitely have much better graphics and be much longer. Also, with the way you move around, you could have set up much more interesting puzzles than you did. Well done though...

I just beat the game and i think there could have been more like a last boss enemy or something. It was good anyway just unfullfilling.

It is fun and I like the adventure of this little blob. The creator must be one tight cat to create such a game.

I just beat the game. Creepy ending, I swear...
A sequel relating to that creature, maybe?
Sorry, no spoilers here...

Very good, very good. You have an original game with decent graphics, exiting and what appears to be original music, and gmaeplay that tells me 'I'm a nice GM game.' Yep, If this game were a mineral, It'd be Gold. Could be shinier and less fragile, but still worth something. That interprets into, 'It could be a bit better gaphicisized, and the Blob could take more than one hit, but it's still worth something.'
Signing off, keep it up, and good luck!
