Block caught my eye in the archive, because I usually enjoy puzzle/strategy games. And in no way was I dissapointed--Block is a unique puzzle game that's greate for when you're bored.

In every level (a smacking 50 are included with the game, plus you can create your own), there are a certain amount of blocks, and an equal amount of "end points." The goal is to push all of these block onto these endpoints, so you can advance to the next level. Just don't do the infamous "getting your block stuck in a corner," or you'll have to restart. Don't you hate that?

The problem with Block is that it will begin to get dull shortly. Each level is nearly exactly the same--only difference being the layout. The author could have solved this many ways. First of all, it would have been a good idea to include obstacles other than the wall... I wouldn't even count that as an obstacle. Another thing that could have been added is some variety.. as I said earlier, the levels tend to get dull and monotonous after a while.

The sprites and graphical effects in Block are near perfect, which is a high point for this game. The only sprites I could see being ripped are the small player sprite, and the background, which is understandable. Otherwise, although small and simple, Block has pleasing graphics. My only complaint for the graphics is mentioned ealier: variety. The same three or four sprites are used throughout the whole game, and they aren't exactly colorful.

When it comes down to sounds, there's pretty much nothing in this department. There's only one sound and one song throughout the whole game. And thank god it's not an annoying song, because believe me... you can't turn it off and it plays throughout the whole game.

This game, combined with it's included level editor, is a must try for any good puzzle fan. I found Block to be a entertaining and interesting game that just needs a little variety.

This is just a sokoban clone. It's not bad by any means, but it does get a little boring even for a puzzle fan like me. The level editor was a nice addition though, I love level editors.

Graphics: 8/10
The graphics are nice and simple, and they all follow a constant style. The only thing I would have changed is made them bigger so that it's easier to see on larger resolutions, but other than that, they're great.

Sound: (Music: 9/10, SFX: 10/10)
There's only one song for a 20+ level game. You do the math, Fortunately, it's a relatively long and slow song, and it's nice and peaceful. So it could be much worse. The SFX are, in my opinion, perfect. The only SFX I heard was the level ending, and it was a good one. Any other SFX would probably have been annoying.

Bug-Free: 10/10
I didn't encounter a single bug.

Controls: 10/10
The arrow keys move you. It's tile based, so you're guy will move 16 pixels at a time for you. It's nice and responsive. Overall, well done.

Gameplay: 9/10
You push blocks around, trying to get them onto little hol-ish things (I'm not quite sure what they actually are). Once you've covered all the hol-ish thigns, you beat the level. The levels are well designed, and some really have you thinking.

Fun Factor:
If yo're into puzzle games, this game earns itself a solid 9. Otherwise, you'll probably be hard pressed to give it a 7. This game was designed for puzzle lovers.

Overall: 8.5/10
This is not the best game ever created, but it certainly has many good things going for it. A worthy download.
